As the food truck season winds down, we’re shifting once again back to our traditional business in Regina – Championship BBQ Catering. While we are used to serving large groups, they’re off the table for the most part. We’re still doing them – in fact we’ve served employees at three separate companies – 600 people per day – since the start of the pandemic. We’ve learned to do it safely while keeping the quality of the food very high.
We’re re-launching our catering menus with a focus on smaller groups. We’ve published a new pricing schedule that allows for different group sizes, budgets, and menu options. All our meats and sides are the same price for these smaller groups – to make our client’s decision making process simpler.
We have streamlined our Deposit policy – allowing our clients more flexibility in case of Government-mandated rules about social gatherings and private groups.
We’ve also released an updated Holiday menu – high-end dishes for our clients that have a more sophisticated palate.

What a year! We’ve seen every festival cancelled and every large catering job either cancelled, postponed, or just shrunk by up to 90%. Fortunately our customers are awesome and our food truck sales have been strong. We’ll get through the summer OK, now we’re just keeping an eye on the winter – our slowest time of the year.
Fortunately, the Quarantine and pandemic this year taught us a few things…
- Our customers still craved the flavours, and they were excited to continue buying our vacuum-sealed brisket, pork, and chicken.
- We didn’t have to wait for bookings – we could create our own! We figured out how to cook family-style meals, full racks of ribs, and family combos. We upgraded our website to make the check-out process easier, and we sold out – week after week. We are so grateful.
- We’ve gone from being Saskatchewan’s premiere LARGE-EVENT caterer – to being a damn good small event caterer too. It’s the new “norm” – We are happy to serve our guests in a buffet-style line up, and we’ve done quite a few events now with each meal boxed individually. It’s more work but we’ve fine-tuned our processes to make sure the food is just as hot and fresh as our clients have come to expect.
So if you’re planning a function – we’re excited to talk to you.
All the best,
Rob, Jacy, and Devon
We’re really excited about a recent development… We’ve been drawn to represent Canada at the 2016 Jack Daniel’s World Championship Invitational Barbecue. It’ll be our 6th time competing at this event, held in Lychburg, Tennessee. What we’re really excited about is that we will be joined by our friends and Canada’s top BBQ Team for 2016 – Arrowhead North BBQ from White City, Saskatchewan! Arrowhead North, headed by Scott Chomos, will be competing at this event for the first time. These 2 teams will be joined by a team from Ottawa to represent Canada at this event. Both teams are also attending the American Royal World Series of Barbecue in Kansas City.
To celebrate this development, and to help raise funds for this very expensive trip, we’re combining forces to bring you the recipes that have put us at the top of the competition world. In addition to the 4 standard competition meats, we’re doing a Carolina-style whole hog, Jerk chicken, and some amazing sides. We’ll have Rebellion beer on tap and lots of other beverage options for you. With great music and silent auction, we hope to bring you a good time as well as a meal you’ll never forget.
Tickets are on sale at Rebellion Brewing in Regina, Butcher Boy Meats (Park St.), and at the Prairie Smoke Food truck.
Thanks to our sponsors and supporters!
